KUALA LUMPUR, 17 October 2026, A total of 192 people, comprising 190 foreign nationals and two local men, were detained during an Immigration Department raid on an entertainment centre in Pudu early Saturday following public complaints about disturbances.
Immigration Department Deputy Director-General (Enforcement) Datuk Basri Othman said the foreign nationals consisted of 99 men and 91 women aged between 20 and 41.
Among those detained, 188 were Indonesian nationals, while the others were from Bangladesh and India.
The two Malaysian men are believed to be the employer and caretaker of the premises, which is located approximately 10 metres from a mosque.
According to Basri, several rooms within the entertainment centre were being used for entertainment activities, with an estimated 50 to 60 people occupying each room at the time of the operation.
Preliminary findings indicated that some of the detainees had overstayed or failed to produce valid travel documents.
All those detained were subsequently taken to an immigration depot for further investigation under Sections 6(1)(c) and 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
During the operation, Bernama reporters also spotted white powder suspected to be drugs on several plates, along with condoms inside the premises.
Basri said investigations would continue to determine whether any immoral activities had taken place at the entertainment centre.
