Missing Autistic Boy Found Dead In Hutan Melintang Oil Palm Plantation

IPOH, July 1  -- An autistic six-year-old boy reported missing yesterday evening was found dead in an oil palm plantation in Kampung Baru, near Sungai Sumun, Hutan Melintang, last night. Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said information on the missing child was received from the police at about 6.24 pm, after which a team from the Hutan Melintang Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene. He said the victim’s father discovered his son was missing after finding the boy was not in the house and the front door had been left open. “An initial searche conducted by the victim’s father around the house and in a nearby oil palm plantation failed to locate the victim. “A police report on the boy’s disappearance was lodged at 3.30 pm,” he said in a statement today. Sabarodzi said the victim was found in a ditch in the oil palm plantation area by members of the public at about 10.08 pm during the search and rescue operation. He said the victim's body was handed over to the police for further action and the operation concluded at about 11 pm. Meanwhile, the Bagan Datuk Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) District Operations Control Centre said in a statement that the victim was found by villagers about 330 metres from his house and was confirmed dead by a forensic team. --BERNAMA

During the meeting, discussions centred on improving the quality of education at the district level, strengthening the Bumiputera education agenda, and developing a comprehensive STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) talent pipeline to meet the nation's future workforce demands. Anwar said the National Education Council was established not merely to make incremental adjustments but to drive transformative changes that would ensure Malaysia's education system remains relevant in an increasingly competitive and rapidly evolving global landscape. He stressed that education reforms must include continuous improvements to educational content and curriculum while enhancing English language proficiency as a second language, without compromising the importance of the national language, cultural values, moral education and the principles of Malaysia MADANI. "The National Education Council was created not merely to make adjustments, but to drive bold and meaningful changes so that our education system remains relevant to the demands of the times," he said. Anwar added that the government remains committed to objectively evaluating the country's education system by taking into account the views, expertise and recommendations of educators, academics, industry players and other stakeholders. Diesel Price Reduced To RM2.10 Per Litre, RM1 ATM Withdrawal Fee Abolished Effective Today
