PUCHONG, July 22 – A bomb threat made against Columbia Asia Hospital in Bandar Puteri Puchong, Selangor, has been confirmed as a hoax, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 2.54pm yesterday after an unidentified individual made a phone call claiming that a bomb had been placed at the hospital.
Following the report, the police bomb disposal unit and K9 sniffer dog team were immediately deployed to the scene to conduct a thorough inspection of the hospital premises.
After an extensive search, no explosives, suspicious objects or dangerous items were discovered within the hospital complex.
Serdang District Police confirmed that the threat was false and believed to be an act of intimidation through a fake bomb warning.
Police are now conducting investigations to identify the individual responsible for making the anonymous call and to determine possible offences under relevant laws.
The incident comes after several similar false bomb threats were reported recently, including cases involving two private universities that were forced to temporarily close following hoax threats.
