Johor MB announces appointment of 10 Exco deputies, strengthens administrative machinery

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi today announced the appointment of 10 Deputy Chairmen of State Government Committees to strengthen the administrative machinery and speed up the delivery of services to the people.

He said the appointment was also aimed at speeding up the resolution of the people’s issues and ensuring that every development policy could be implemented effectively, balanced and inclusively in every district.

Onn Hafiz said various strategic initiatives are being formulated and will be implemented to ensure Johor continues to be a developed state by 2030 in line with the implementation of the Johor Maju 2030 framework and the Johor Economic Transformation Plan (JETP).

“Along with the increasingly rapid and challenging development agenda, the state government sees the need to strengthen administrative capacity to ensure that every policy, project and programme can be implemented more effectively,” he said at a press conference in Kota Iskandar, here today.

Onn Hafiz said the appointment proposal was presented and received the approval of the Regent Sultan of Johor Tunku Mahkota Ismail.

He said each deputy committee chairman must work as a team and establish close cooperation with the chairman of the main committee as well as related departments and agencies.

This step, he said, is important to monitor project implementation, coordinate actions on the ground and ensure that every benefit of the launched program truly reaches the grassroots level.

He also expressed his congratulations to all the deputy chairmen who were appointed and was confident that the teamwork spirit of the entire state government leadership would be able to realize the aspirations of the people of Johor with excellence.

The following is a list of the 10 Deputy Chairmen of the Johor State Government Committees:

  1. Deputy Chairman of the Housing and Local Government Committee Zaidi Japar (Rengit Assemblyman).
  2. Deputy Chairman of the Youth and Sports, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Committee Nadhirah Afiqah Abdull Rahim (Serom Assemblyman).
  3. Deputy Chairman of the Islamic Religious Affairs Committee Anuar Abd Manap (Pemanis Assemblyman).
  4. Deputy Chairman of the Health and Environment Committee Mohd Youzaimi Yusof (Tenggaroh Assemblyman).
  5. Deputy Chairman of the Investment, Trade, Consumer Affairs and Human Resources Committee Syed Hussein Syed Abdullah (Mahkota Assemblyman).
  6. Deputy Chairman of the Public Works, Transport, Infrastructure and Communications Committee Datuk Mohamad Najib Samuri (Parit Yaani Assemblyman).
  7. Deputy Chairman of the Women, Family and Community Development Committee Chan San San (Johor Jaya Assemblyman).
  8. Deputy Chairman of the Agriculture, Agro-Based Industry and Rural Development Committee Sahrihan Jani (Gambir Assemblyman).
  9. Deputy Chairman of the Unity, Heritage and Culture Committee Chua Jian Boon (Layang-Layang Assemblyman).
  10. Deputy Chairman of the Education and Information Committee V. Rugendran (Kahang Assemblyman).
