KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 2026 : KTM Komuter Klang Valley and Electric Train Service (ETS) operations were disrupted after construction debris damaged the overhead electrical line near Batang Benar.
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) said the incident occurred during bridge construction works by a Public Works Department (JKR) contractor for a wayleave project that was carried out without KTMB’s approval.
A wooden structure from the construction site fell onto the railway track between Batang Benar and Labu, striking the overhead power line and disrupting the rail electricity supply.
As a result, KTM Komuter services from Pulau Sebang towards KL Sentral are terminating at Seremban, while services heading to KL Sentral and Batu Caves are operating only from Bangi. Train services between Bangi and Seremban have been suspended until further notice, with passengers advised to use alternative transportation.
To ease passenger movement, KTMB has deployed three shuttle bus routes serving Seremban, Tiroi, Batang Benar, Labu and Bangi stations. Seven additional shuttle buses have also been provided for affected ETS passengers at KL Sentral, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Kajang and Seremban stations.
KTMB said ETS passengers who decide not to continue their journey are entitled to a full fare refund.
The rail operator added that its technical team is carrying out repair works on the damaged overhead line to restore services as quickly as possible. KTMB apologised for the disruption and urged passengers to follow its official social media channels or check with station staff for the latest service updates.
