SERI KEMBANGAN, July 24 2026 — Police have arrested several individuals following the alleged assault of a 16-year-old student and his father outside a national secondary school in Seri Kembangan earlier this month.
Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Muhamad Farid Ahmad said the suspects will be brought before the Petaling Jaya Magistrates’ Court today for remand proceedings under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
He said police received a report regarding a fight involving several students and the father of one of the students.
According to investigations, the incident occurred at about 12.45pm on July 3 when the student was walking towards his motorcycle outside the school. He was allegedly called over by several students from the same school before being surrounded and assaulted.
The teenager sustained injuries to his lips and knees, along with bruises and pain across his body.
His father, who attempted to intervene and stop the assault, was also allegedly attacked and knocked to the ground. He suffered injuries to his hands and legs, as well as pain across his body.
Muhamad Farid said police are working closely with the school authorities and the parents to ensure the case is handled professionally and in accordance with the law.
The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries a maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.
Investigations are also being conducted under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which provides for a maximum fine of RM500,000, imprisonment of up to two years, or both upon conviction.
Police have urged the public not to speculate or share unverified information that could interfere with the ongoing investigation.
