PUCHONG: Community activist S. Chandrasegaran, better known as Cikgu Chandra, has claimed that he was once again attacked and threatened by several individuals, including a person believed to be a former politician, on Thursday morning.
Chandrasegaran said the incident occurred at about 8.15am when the man, accompanied by several others, arrived at his residence and allegedly issued threats.
“The incident lasted for almost half an hour as they acted aggressively and provoked the situation,” he said when contacted on Thursday by Sinar Harian.
He added that the situation remained under control as police were already monitoring the residential area to prevent any untoward incidents.
Authorities are currently seeking further details from the Selangor police regarding the allegations.
Earlier on Tuesday, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar was reported to have said that police had received two separate reports involving acts of mischief and criminal intimidation against Chandrasegaran on March 9 and March 10 in Taman Kinrara, Puchong.
The first incident is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation. The second incident is being investigated under Section 435 of the Penal Code, which relates to mischief by fire involving the burning of vehicles.
Videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, showing a group of individuals attacking Chandrasegaran’s home, while three vehicles, including one belonging to the activist, were set on fire.
Following the incident, police reminded the public not to engage in speculation or provocation that could affect racial harmony and public order.
