KUANTAN, August 2 2026– The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, graced the Kuantan 188 Festival held at Kuantan 188 here tonight.
His Royal Highness arrived at the tower grounds at 9 pm, accompanied by Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, and the Regent of Pahang, Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
The event, held in conjunction with the birthday celebrations of Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah, featured a cake-cutting ceremony, the ceremonial cutting of pulut kuning (yellow glutinous rice), and a fireworks display.
The festival was further enlivened by performances from renowned artistes, including Datuk MÂ Nasir, Hazama, Hael Husaini and Nadeera.
Earlier, Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his appreciation to all parties involved for the successful organisation of the Kuantan 188 Festival, which is held annually in conjunction with His Royal Highness’s birthday celebrations.
“Organising programmes such as this not only adds vibrancy to the celebrations, but also serves as a platform to strengthen the tourism sector, stimulate the local economy, showcase cultural heritage and foster closer ties between the royal institution and the people,” His Royal Highness said.
The three-day Kuantan 188 Festival, which began yesterday, also features the Royal Pahang Dragon Boat Regatta and the Kuantan 188 Hot Air Balloon event.
