The Johor DAP Committee, which met in Kulai this afternoon, discussed the outcome of the Negeri Sembilan state election. The meeting also examined the implications of the results for the party’s preparations ahead of the next General Election.
Johor DAP respects the decision made by the people of Negeri Sembilan. The outcome reflects the will of the rakyat, which must be accepted with a strong sense of responsibility, humility, and a commitment to continue improving ourselves.
On behalf of Johor DAP, I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all Johor DAP members who travelled to Negeri Sembilan to assist our comrades throughout the campaign until polling day.
Although the results were not in favour of DAP and Pakatan Harapan, our struggle does not end here.
In facing this challenge, Johor DAP gives its full support to DAP Secretary-General Anthony Loke Siew Fook to continue leading the party. His leadership throughout the campaign demonstrated courage, responsibility, and a willingness to shoulder the party’s mandate during one of its most challenging periods.
On the night of July 11, I had offered to resign as Johor DAP Chairman to Anthony. However, he persuaded me not to do so.
Johor DAP will continue to stand firmly with DAP Negeri Sembilan and work closely with the party’s Central Executive Committee to ensure that the party emerges stronger, more united, and regains the confidence of the people ahead of the next General Election.
