PUTRAJAYA, August 21 2026 — A former chief executive officer of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) arrived at the Putrajaya Magistrates’ Court this morning to face a remand application in connection with investigations into findings contained in the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on the pilgrimage fund.
The former TH chief executive is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) as part of its probe into alleged misconduct highlighted in the RCI report.
The investigation follows MACC’s earlier detention of seven individuals, including former senior TH management personnel and company executives, over various allegations linked to the RCI findings.
MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman had previously confirmed that the investigation was being conducted under Sections 18 and 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009.
The remand hearing will determine whether the former TH CEO should be placed under further detention to assist investigators in completing their probe.
