KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has stressed that government action involving Tabung Haji (TH) and FELDA is based on wrongdoing and mismanagement, not race or religion.
He said the government would not compromise when misconduct is identified in any agency under its supervision, including institutions closely associated with the Malay and Muslim communities.
Anwar said such issues should not be viewed through a racial or religious lens, but instead addressed from the perspective of governance, integrity and accountability.
He added that the government has taken steps to review past issues involving the institutions and ensure weaknesses in management are not repeated.
Anwar stressed that firm action must be taken against wrongdoing regardless of who is involved or the background of the agency concerned.
