KUALA PILAH, September 20 2026, Current political dynamics could result in various political realignments, taking into account the unique political landscape and dynamics of individual states.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) communications director Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said recent political developments should not be viewed through a single framework, as each state has its own political characteristics.
“We know that every state has its own political uniqueness. So, it is not impossible that such dynamics could also emerge within Pakatan Harapan (PH),” he told reporters after officiating the Communications Ministry’s Kampung Angkat MADANI 2025 initiative at Surau Kampung Tebat Kering here today.
In a separate development, Fahmi, who is also Communications Minister and MADANI Government spokesman, said the conditional pardon granted to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak was within the powers of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong under Article 42 of the Federal Constitution.
He said the government had taken note of the decision and that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh had issued statements on the matter.
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, granted Najib a conditional pardon on Sept 18, allowing him to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until Aug 23, 2028, subject to a RM50 million fine. The decision was made at the 64th meeting of the Pardons Board for the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of Sept 20, the Malaysian Prisons Department said it was ready to implement the Pardons Board’s decision once it receives the necessary official notification and documents through the proper channels.
