Saravanan, Family Arrive at MACC to Receive Asset Declaration Notices

PUTRAJAYA, 28 September 2026, Former Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri M. Saravanan arrived at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters this morning with his wife and two children to receive notices requiring them to declare their assets.

The notices are issued under Section 36 of the MACC Act 2009, with Saravanan, his wife and three children required to submit their asset declarations within 30 days.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said another child, who is currently overseas, will be served with a notice in November.

He said an extension could be granted if the 30-day period was insufficient, subject to a request being submitted.

Saravanan was previously charged in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court with three counts of receiving bribes totalling nearly RM1.09 million, allegedly linked to the approval of 1,000 foreign worker quotas for a company in 2022.
