KUALA LUMPUR, October 5, 2026 — Police have recorded statements from 25 individuals in connection with an incident involving Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail said police have also obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings and medical reports as part of the investigation.

He said the investigation is being conducted thoroughly and urged the public to avoid speculation while police establish the facts surrounding the incident.

Khalid also clarified that the deployment of Travel Control Officers (TCO) from the PDRM Special Branch is part of their routine duties, including intelligence gathering, intelligence operations and security control.

He said any possible breach of standard operating procedures would only be determined after the investigation is completed.

Police will submit the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) once the investigation is concluded. The two officers involved remain on duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
