Amanah Allocated Eight Seats for Melaka State Election, Says Mohamad Sabu

KOTA BHARU: 16 October 2026, Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has been allocated eight seats to contest in the upcoming Melaka state election, according to its president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu.

Mohamad, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, said the allocation was agreed upon during discussions within Pakatan Harapan (PH). However, the final decision on the coalition’s election strategy remains subject to approval by the PH Presidential Council.

He said the party’s final contesting arrangement would be determined at the council level, with an official announcement expected on October 24.

Mohamad was speaking to reporters after attending the 2026 Kelantan State-Level Amanah Convention in Kota Bharu.

He added that the final number of seats Amanah would contest could depend on the outcome of ongoing discussions on broader political cooperation.

The Election Commission has scheduled October 31 for nomination day, November 10 for early voting and November 14 for polling in the Melaka state election. The state assembly was dissolved on September 23.
