Man Escapes Injury After Car Hit by Branch From Tree Over 50 Years Old

IPOH: A 31-year-old man escaped unhurt after his Perodua Myvi was struck by a falling tree branch in front of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) in Kuala Kangsar this morning.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division Assistant Director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received an emergency call at 8.57am.

He said seven firefighters from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene and found that a branch from a tree estimated to be more than 50 years old had fallen onto the car.

The driver had managed to get out of the vehicle before firefighters arrived and did not sustain any injuries.

Sabarodzi said the incident occurred in good weather conditions. Firefighters subsequently used chainsaws to cut the fallen branch and clear the area.

The operation was fully completed at 9.20am.
