Teoh Mei Xing Bids Farewell to Badminton on Home Soil

KUALA LUMPUR, October 19 2026, National women’s doubles player Teoh Mei Xing has expressed gratitude for ending her badminton career in Malaysia, despite suffering an early exit at the Malaysia Super 100 tournament in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

In an Instagram post, Mei Xing said she was thankful for the opportunity to compete in her final Malaysian tournament, partnering Tan Zhi Yang.

However, the pair’s campaign ended in the first round after they lost 12-21, 21-17, 21-15 to South Korea’s Jin Sung Ik and Lee Seung-hee at the Indoor Arena, EduCity Sports Complex, on Wednesday.

Mei Xing acknowledged her disappointment at not securing a title before retiring but said she had no regrets about the dedication and effort she had invested throughout her career.

She also thanked those who had supported her during more than a decade in competitive badminton, particularly through challenging times.

One of the highlights of her career was her partnership with Anna Cheong, with whom she reached a career-best world ranking of 17th. The duo won the Czech Open in 2021 and the Super 300 Syed Modi International in 2022.
