DagangHalal Strengthens ASEAN Halal Trade and Compliance at Fi Asia Indonesia 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: DagangHalal.com, operator of the world’s largest halal-verified business-to-business (B2B) e-marketplace, has concluded its participation as Halal Strategic Partner at Food Ingredients (Fi) Asia Indonesia 2026, held from Sept 16 to 18 at Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Jakarta.

Organised by Pamerindo Indonesia and Informa Markets, the 30th edition of the exhibition brought together ingredient suppliers, food and beverage manufacturers, product developers, buyers and industry stakeholders under the theme “Elevating Food Standards for a Healthier, Greener Future”.

DagangHalal focused on increasing halal product visibility, strengthening buyer connections and promoting digital compliance through its World Halal Supermarket, B2B network and Halal Internal Assurance System (HIAS).

The event also featured the ASEAN Halal Showcase, which presented products from Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia, offering buyers a centralised platform to explore regional sourcing opportunities.

A Halal Clinic provided businesses with information and preliminary guidance on Indonesia’s halal certification process under the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH).

Through its World Halal Supermarket, DagangHalal displayed a selection of halal products in a retail-style setting, enabling visitors and buyers to explore participating brands and product categories.

The company also introduced HIAS, a cloud-based platform designed to centralise halal and food safety documentation, track certificate validity, manage audits and corrective actions, and improve traceability across ingredients and production processes.

Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 was officially opened by Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza. Other attendees included acting director-general of agro-industry at Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry Ir Putu Juli Ardika, Indonesian Food and Beverage Producers Association chairman Ir Adhi Siswaya Lukman, and Informa Markets ASEAN regional portfolio director Rungphech Chitanuwat.

During the opening-day exhibition tour, the delegation visited DagangHalal’s exhibition area and viewed products featured in the World Halal Supermarket.

DagangHalal said confidence in halal products begins with the ingredients, suppliers and production controls behind them. Its participation therefore focused on helping businesses improve product exposure, engage potential buyers and understand how digital compliance systems can support audit readiness and cross-border trade.

The partnership comes as Indonesia prepares for the next phase of mandatory halal certification, scheduled to begin on Oct 18, 2026. The requirements cover specified categories, including imported products, food ingredients, additives and processing aids, increasing the importance of reliable supplier documentation and ingredient traceability.

DagangHalal clarified that HIAS supports internal compliance management and audit preparation but does not issue halal certification or replace the authority of BPJPH, recognised halal inspection bodies or other authorised certification institutions.

Chitanuwat said the exhibition recorded growth in exhibitor and visitor participation, highlighting its role in encouraging industry connections, innovation and business development.

The event occupied 11 exhibition halls and featured more than 700 exhibitors, over 10 country pavilions and programmes covering innovation, product development, halal coaching and technical knowledge-sharing.

Indonesia’s food and beverage industry continued to demonstrate growth, expanding by 6.77% in the first half of 2026 and contributing 41.86% of non-oil and gas manufacturing gross domestic product, according to the country’s Ministry of Industry.

Following the exhibition, DagangHalal plans to continue discussions with manufacturers, suppliers and buyers it engaged with during the event, while exploring opportunities to support halal market access, compliance readiness and digital trade across Indonesia and the wider ASEAN region.
