P5 Unfazed by Proposed PN Deregistration, Says Annuar Musa

KUALA LUMPUR: The five political parties forming the P5 bloc — PAS, Gerakan, Wawasan, MIPP and Pejuang — will continue their political cooperation despite the proposed deregistration of Perikatan Nasional (PN), Tan Sri Annuar Musa said.

Annuar said the move would represent only a temporary setback that the five parties could overcome, adding that their political agenda would continue independently of PN’s platform and symbols.

He said the possibility of moving away from the PN name and symbols had been considered previously, while efforts by Bersatu to take control of the coalition had long been anticipated.

According to Annuar, P5 would continue to promote the unity of the ummah while recognising Malaysia’s multiracial and multicultural character.

He added that the group remained committed to pursuing a political formula rooted in Malaysia’s history, experience and the aspirations of the people.

Annuar also alleged that the Registrar of Societies (ROS) would continue to face government interference and be used to restrict the public’s political choices.

Despite these concerns, he expressed confidence that public support for P5 would continue to grow.

“We will start in Melaka, God willing,” he said.

The statement signals P5’s intention to maintain its political cooperation amid uncertainty surrounding PN’s registration status and internal party dynamics.
