Meta Launches Personal AI Agent Muse in Japan

TOKYO, October 23 2026, Meta Platforms has launched its AI assistant, Muse, in Japan, marking its first expansion beyond North America.

Muse allows users to give instructions by text or voice through a smartphone app. Its basic features are free to use.

The assistant can summarise emails and manage schedules by connecting to Gmail and Google Calendar. Meta also plans to link it with Japanese shopping platform Mercari and finance app Money Forward ME.

Users can control which apps and information Muse can access. It can also make suggestions based on past conversations.

Meta said Muse will ask for permission before sending emails or making purchases. It cannot access users’ passwords or credit card details.
