Bukit Gasing, 12 February 2026 – A cheque presentation ceremony for Ramadan contributions to mosques and surau in the Bukit Gasing state constituency (DUN) was held today, reaffirming ongoing efforts to support local religious institutions and community welfare initiatives.
A total of RM26,000 has been allocated this year, with RM3,000 distributed to each mosque and RM2,000 to each surau involved. The funds are intended to assist management committees in organising programmes and meeting operational needs throughout the month of Ramadan, including welfare activities and the preparation of iftar meals for congregants.
The state assembly representative said the allocation reflects a continued commitment to ensuring that state resources are channelled back to the people, regardless of race or religion. Support for mosques and surau, the representative added, forms part of broader efforts to serve all segments of the community while strengthening harmony and unity within Bukit Gasing.
Appreciation was also extended to mosque and surau committees for their dedication in enlivening places of worship and serving as important community hubs. It is hoped that the contribution will help facilitate smooth implementation of Ramadan programmes and foster a stronger spirit of togetherness among residents.
