Free GO KL Bus Route Extended to Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital from April 1

KUALA LUMPUR, March 18, 2026Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will expand its free GO KL bus service beginning April 1, adding a new stop at the Cheras Rehabilitation Hospital (HRC) to improve accessibility for patients and visitors.

The extension involves the GOKL11 route, which runs between MRT Maluri Station and Bandar Tun Razak. The move is aimed at making it easier for patients—particularly senior citizens and those with mobility challenges—to access treatment and rehabilitation services.

According to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Hannah Yeoh, the initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure government healthcare facilities are not only available but also easily reachable for the public.

“Malaysia’s elderly population is projected to reach 11.7% by 2030, underscoring the need for more inclusive transport solutions.

“HRC is the only dedicated rehabilitation hospital in Kuala Lumpur, offering specialised recovery services for patients with injuries, stroke, and chronic illnesses.

“The facility plays a key role in helping patients regain mobility and improve their quality of life.” she said.

In addition, the hospital will introduce the Cheras Zone Geriatric Wellbeing and Elderly Community Program, which will be held at its field.

The programme will feature disease prevention awareness, healthcare management initiatives, outdoor therapy facilities for mobility and balance training, and community activities aimed at promoting overall wellbeing.

She also added that the initiative reflects efforts to maximise public assets in a densely populated city while enhancing access to essential services for Kuala Lumpur residents.
