Ramanan Slams ‘Corporate Mafia’ Claims as Attempt to Bring Down Government

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25, 2026 — Sungai Buloh MP Ramanan Ramakrishnan has dismissed allegations linking him to a so-called “corporate mafia” scandal, describing them as part of a wider narrative aimed at bringing down the government.

The PKR vice-president was responding to claims by businessman Victor Chin, who alleged that an unnamed PKR Member of Parliament received RM9.5 million to help resolve issues related to ongoing investigations.

Ramanan firmly denied the accusation, stating he has never met or communicated with Chin.

“I have never met him, I don’t know him, and I have never spoken to him. How can I take RM9.5 million from someone I have never met?” he told reporters.

He characterised the allegations as “dirty narratives” designed to discredit PKR, its Members of Parliament, and the current administration.

“This is not a guessing game. If there is proof, bring it forward. Don’t make wild accusations as if this is some kind of comedy court,” he said.

Ramanan also questioned Chin’s credibility, noting that the businessman had previously made varying claims involving multiple authorities, including alleging actions against him by enforcement agencies and financial regulators.

He further revealed that numerous police reports have been lodged against Chin and his company, and alleged that nearly 500 bank accounts have been linked to the businessman.

Chin, in a 40-page document released earlier, claimed that a PKR MP had requested RM10 million in cash to settle legal troubles tied to the alleged corporate mafia.

He also accused an intermediary known as “Mr R” of working with the group to gain control of NexG Bhd through coercive means.

In response, Ramanan said he has instructed PKR members, particularly in Sungai Buloh, to lodge police reports, stressing that the matter should be investigated by authorities.

“Let the police investigate. These claims appear to be part of a broader attempt to bring down the government and undermine public confidence,” he said.

The case remains under scrutiny as authorities are urged to verify the allegations and take appropriate action.
