Temerloh, April 3, 2026 — Police in Temerloh have arrested a 42-year-old man and seized more than one kilogram of suspected methamphetamine in an early morning yesterday under drug raid “Op Tapis” yesterday.
The operation, carried out at 5:00 AM by the Narcotic Crime Investigation Division of IPD Temerloh, targeted a location in the Charuk Puting area following intelligence on suspected drug trafficking activities.
During the raid, officers detained a local man and discovered four pink plastic packets believed to contain methamphetamine, weighing approximately 1,024.63 grams. Authorities also confiscated a grey Honda HR-V believed to be linked to the case.
The total estimated value of the seized drugs and assets is RM112,252.50.
Police checks revealed that the suspect has multiple prior records related to drug abuse. He has been remanded for five days under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code and is currently held at the IPD Temerloh lockup.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries severe penalties upon conviction, including the death penalty or life imprisonment, along with a minimum of 15 strokes of the cane if the death sentence is not imposed.
Temerloh District Police Chief ACP Mohd Nasyim bin Bahron stated that authorities will continue proactive enforcement and intelligence operations to curb drug trafficking in the district.
