KUDAT: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Ewon Benedick, today officiated the opening of the third factory of Norcy BeautyLab Sdn. Bhd. in Matunggong.
The factory is owned by local woman entrepreneur Norsiah Ahiddin, who previously established her first mini factory at the Matunggong Entrepreneurship Centre and a second facility in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.
Ewon described the opening of the third factory as a proud milestone—not only for the entrepreneur but also for the growth of Sabah’s entrepreneurship sector.
“This success proves that local entrepreneurs are capable of growing from small-scale operations into larger enterprises, even reaching international markets,” he said during the officiating ceremony.
He also stressed that the state government, through the Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MINDET), will continue to support local entrepreneurs through grants, financing assistance, and opportunities to participate in trade expos.
According to him, these efforts are in line with the “Sabah First” aspiration, which aims to produce more Sabahans with sustainable incomes, either as business owners or members of the workforce.
The new factory is also expected to benefit the local economy by creating at least 15 job opportunities for residents in the area.
During the event, Ewon showed his support by purchasing Norcy BeautyLab products to share with attendees present at the ceremony.
