KUALA LUMPUR 25 April 2026 : Datuk Sri Abdul Halim Aman has been appointed as the new Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief, effective May 13.

It is understood that Abdul Halim is a former High Court judge. He replaces Tan Sri Azam Baki, whose contract ends on May 12 after being at the helm of the graft-buster agency since 2020.Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar made the announcement in a statement this morning. Shamsul said the proposal was presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday to the King, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim. A list of candidates for the post was submitted. Sultan Ibrahim recently decreed that he would personally determine the next candidate to lead the MACC. He had warned against politicising the matter.
