KOTA BHARU, June 18 — Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Crown Prince of Kelantan, Tengku Mahkota Kelantan, at the Old Istana Balai Besar here. During the audience, Fahmi briefed His Royal Highness on various initiatives being implemented by the Ministry of Communications, including ongoing efforts to strengthen the nation's communications ecosystem and digital landscape. The minister also updated the Crown Prince on several current issues and developments, particularly the growing concern over fake social media accounts impersonating public figures and institutions, including those involving royal institutions. Fahmi said the ministry remains committed to working closely with relevant agencies and digital platform providers to address the misuse of social media and enhance public awareness on cybersecurity and online safety. He expressed his deepest appreciation for the opportunity to meet and receive guidance from His Royal Highness, describing the audience as meaningful and beneficial. "I am grateful for the opportunity to present updates on the ministry's initiatives and to receive the views, advice and guidance of His Royal Highness," he said.
