Friday prayers at Outreach Oasis Bukit Bintang starting today

KUALA LUMPUR, JUNE 19 — Muslims around Bukit Bintang can perform Friday prayers at Outreach Oasis Bukit Bintang starting today following special approval given for that purpose.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hassan, through a post on Facebook, said the facilities were provided temporarily until the permanent Friday surau at the location was completed.

“History will be made in Bukit Bintang tomorrow! With God’s permission and special approval, Friday prayers can now be performed at Outreach Oasis Bukit Bintang temporarily until the permanent Friday surau is completed.”

“After this, there is no need to rush to catch up on time or travel far to fulfill obligations, God willing,” he said.

He also invited Muslims, especially residents of Bukit Bintang, to attend and enliven the Friday prayers at the location as a sign of support for the teachings of Islam.

“Come on, fill the ranks to show the ummah’s strong support for the Islamic faith. Friday is a day full of blessings! Let’s rest our minds, cleanse our souls and lead the Friday prayers at Outreach Oasis Bukit Bintang tomorrow!” he said.

The government, it was previously reported, is in an effort to create a comfortable Friday surau in Bukit Bintang to make it easier for the Muslim community to perform their prayers in the tourist hotspot.
