JOHOR BAHRU, July 10 — Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed confidence that the strong turnout at campaign events in Kempas and Perling signals growing momentum for the coalition ahead of the Johor state election yesterday.
Speaking after a campaign gathering at Medan Selera Taman Cempaka, Zahid described the presence of thousands of BN supporters as a “blue wave” that reflected the aspirations of the Bangsa Johor to see the state continue progressing under a stable administration.
Zahid said throughout the two-week campaign period, Barisan Nasional had focused on presenting a mature, respectful and issue-based political approach by highlighting its track record, clear direction and commitment to Johor’s continued development.
He said the coalition’s campaign centred on creating employment opportunities, expanding affordable housing, strengthening education and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), attracting investments, and securing a better future for Johor’s younger generation.
According to Zahid, BN’s strength lies in its proven record of governance, adding that the coalition does not ask voters to place their trust blindly but instead encourages them to evaluate its achievements, compare performances and make informed decisions based on facts rather than sentiment.
With the campaign period drawing to a close, Zahid said BN had presented its policies, achievements and future plans, and it was now up to the people of Johor to decide the state’s direction.
He called on voters in the Kempas and Perling state constituencies to give their full support to Barisan Nasional candidates Datuk Haji Ramlee Bohani and Pannir Selvam, saying their election would ensure the continuity of development initiatives for the benefit of the people and the state’s long-term growth.
Zahid also expressed confidence that Johoreans would make a wise and mature choice to preserve political stability and sustain Johor’s development momentum.
He concluded by reaffirming his optimism for BN’s prospects, declaring his support for Johor’s continued progress and the coalition’s vision for the state.
