JOHOR BAHRU, July 10 — Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has called for the creation of more high-paying jobs in Johor, saying the state has the potential to provide better employment opportunities for its people, particularly the younger generation.
Amirudin made the remarks during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Grand Finale campaign event in Kempas after arriving in Senai from leading the Selangor state government’s mission for the Selangor International Business Summit @ ASEAN 2026 (SIBS@ASEAN 2026).
Addressing PH supporters, he reiterated the coalition’s commitment to generating quality employment opportunities that would allow more Johoreans to build their careers within the state.
He said Johor possesses strong economic potential and should be developed in a way that enables its youth to secure well-paying jobs without having to cross the Johor Causeway in search of better livelihoods.
According to Amirudin, creating quality employment in Johor would not only strengthen the state’s economy but also ensure that its people can enjoy sustainable livelihoods closer to home.
With polling day approaching, Amirudin urged voters to make what he described as the right choice by supporting Pakatan Harapan candidates, expressing confidence that the coalition could help unlock Johor’s full economic potential while improving opportunities for future generations.
