BANGI, August 21 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has sought the assistance of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to resolve issues surrounding FELDA’s investment in Indonesian palm oil company PT Eagle High Plantations.
Anwar said he had written to Prabowo requesting his intervention to help address the matter, which could result in losses of more than RM2 billion for FELDA if not handled properly.
The investment, made during the previous administration, has come under scrutiny over its financial implications and the potential losses faced by FELDA.
Anwar said the government was looking at all possible avenues to protect FELDA’s interests and minimise losses, including through discussions with the Indonesian government.
He said the matter required careful consideration as any decision could have significant financial implications for FELDA and its stakeholders.
The Prime Minister’s move comes as the government continues efforts to examine past investments and strengthen governance and accountability involving government-linked institutions.
