KUALA LUMPUR — Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) has advised the public to be more cautious and ensure the legitimacy of training programmes before joining them, following reports of several clubs allegedly making false claims of being affiliated with the parent body.
In a statement today, BAM advised parents to verify any alleged official relationship before registering their children or making any payments to the parties involved.
“BAM has been informed of several badminton training programmes and clubs that claim or give the impression of being affiliated with BAM.
“BAM would like to emphasise that the programmes and clubs in question are not affiliated with, endorsed or authorised by BAM,” the statement said.
BAM also advised any party found to be falsifying an affiliation with BAM or using the body’s logo without permission to immediately cease such claims or use.
“BAM views the misuse of its name and reputation seriously and reserves the right to take appropriate action if necessary.
“For confirmation of BAM’s official programmes, the public can refer to BAM’s official communication channels,” the statement said.
