BANGI, July 19 – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has invited the public, especially football fans, to gather at Bangi Square 2 to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final in the early hours of Monday.
In a social media post, Zahid said the event is open to everyone, regardless of whether they support Spain, Argentina, or any other team competing in the final.
He said the programme is not only an opportunity to enjoy the excitement of football’s biggest match together but will also conclude with a spiritual session featuring qiyam (late-night prayers) and Subuh (Fajr) prayers in congregation.
According to Zahid, the initiative aims to combine the spirit of sportsmanship with Islamic values while fostering unity and strengthening community ties.
The programme is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 20, 2026, beginning at 12:00 a.m. at Bangi Square 2 and will conclude after the congregational Fajr prayer.
Zahid also encouraged members of the public with free time to attend the event, expressing hope that it would serve as a platform to bring people together in a harmonious and meaningful atmosphere.
