Former CGC CEO and Chamber of Commerce President Among New KKIP Board Members

KOTA KINABALU, 22 October 2026 – The Sabah State Government has appointed three new board members to KKIP Sdn Bhd, bringing a fresh perspective to the leadership of the organisation.

Former Credit Guarantee Corporation (CGC) Group Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak, a Sabah native, has been appointed to the KKIP Board of Directors to represent professionals from the banking and financial sectors.

Penampang Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) President Datuk Kou Lee Chong has also been appointed to represent the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector and business chambers in Sabah.

Meanwhile, UPKO Sepanggar Division Chief Datuk Wong Thien Fook, who previously chaired the KKIP Special Resettlement Committee, has been appointed to the board to continue addressing outstanding issues concerning the relocation of original residents within KKIP.

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) Datuk Ewon Benedick expressed hope that the three new appointments would bring added value to the board’s leadership and improve KKIP’s management.

“I greatly appreciate the support of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor in endorsing these appointments, in line with my proposal that appointments to the boards of statutory bodies and government-linked companies under MINDET should include more professionals and industry representatives, maintaining a balance with appointments representing political parties within the government,” he said.

In addition to KKIP, the Sabah State Government recently appointed two new board members to the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), representing the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DPMM) Sabah and the Kadazandusun Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI).
