KUALA LUMPUR — The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture’s (MOTAC) Ramadan Iftar Ceremony yesterday became an important platform in strengthening synergy between the government, diplomatic partners and tourism industry players to support the success of the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 (TMM2026) campaign.
The ceremony, co-organised by Tourism Malaysia, which took place at a hotel here, was graced by the presence of Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.
The ceremony brought together a delegation consisting of foreign diplomats, Tourism State Executive Council (Exco) members and tourism industry players, as well as top management from MOTAC and Tourism Malaysia.
Tourism Malaysia said the event also encouraged networking and interaction in an atmosphere of goodwill that reflected the spirit of unity and mutual respect.
“The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture also took the time to hold an interactive session with industry players to discuss the challenges faced and exchange views on measures to strengthen the development of the country’s tourism and cultural industries,” according to the statement.
Tourism Malaysia said the interaction reflected MOTAC’s commitment to ensuring that policies and initiatives implemented are always responsive to industry needs, in addition to strengthening strategic collaboration between the government and stakeholders.
At the event, guests also had the opportunity to enjoy the uniqueness of Malaysian culture through local food, traditional music performances and exclusive screenings of TMM2026 promotional videos.
To reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring a safe and conducive tourism environment, the event also featured a National Security Briefing by the Royal Malaysian Police which emphasised the importance of cooperation between various parties in ensuring that Malaysia remains a safe, friendly and trusted tourist destination for international visitors.
