KUALA LUMPUR, October 5 2026 — The National Audit Department (JAN) is strengthening its role as an independent, professional and integrity-driven national audit institution.
JAN said its audits now focus not only on compliance but also on significant and impactful issues, following amendments to the Audit Act 1957.
The department said the move aims to ensure public funds are managed prudently and transparently while delivering greater benefits to the people.
JAN has also expanded its audit coverage through the e-SelfAudit System, with 1,856 additional entities, including government-owned companies at federal and state levels, audited since 2025.
The National Audit Department Report (LKAN) 2/2026 was tabled in the Dewan Rakyat today.
