IPOH, September 21 2026 — The next of kin of two youths killed in a road crash on Jalan Jelapang-Ampang here on Sept 19 are eligible for benefits under the Social Security Organisation’s (PERKESO) LINDUNG 24 Jam Scheme for Non-Occupational Accidents.
PERKESO said the victims, Muhammad Izdihar Rafiq Sarajil Korin and Muhamad Faiz Danial Jumri, both 19, had been contributing to PERKESO since January and August last year respectively.
Under the scheme, their families will receive Dependants’ Benefits of RM945 and RM891 respectively, distributed according to their eligible shares.
Their parents will receive the benefits for life, while eligible siblings will receive payments until they turn 21 or complete a degree.
Each family is also entitled to a one-off Funeral Management Benefit of RM3,000.
PERKESO said total periodic pension payments to the victims’ next of kin over 15 years are expected to exceed RM275,000.
The crash at about 3.35 am on Sept 19 killed three motorcyclists aged 19 to 20, while nine others aged 19 to 25 were injured.
