MACC Calls on Young Integrity Cadets to Promote Anti-Corruption Awareness

KUALA NERUS, October 17 2026, The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has urged Young Integrity Cadets to become ambassadors for integrity in their communities by raising awareness of corruption and encouraging ethical behaviour.

MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Prevention) Datuk Azmi Kamaruzaman said the cadets should remain alert to corruption and abuse of power while setting a positive example for those around them.

He stressed that integrity meant doing the right thing even when no one was watching, particularly when faced with pressure or temptation.

Azmi said young people needed the moral courage to reject corruption, dishonesty and the misuse of power, regardless of the circumstances.

He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Anti-Corruption Student Volunteer Corps Cadet (KOR SUAR) training programme and the presentation of Young Integrity Cadet certificates to Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) Cohort 4/2026 participants at Dewan Al-Muktafi Billah Shah, UniSZA, today.

He said the knowledge and experience gained through the programme should help participants become not only successful individuals but also trustworthy and responsible members of society.

Azmi added that fostering integrity among young people was essential to building a principled society that firmly rejected corruption in all its forms.

A total of 39 cadets completed the KOR SUAR training, an MACC initiative designed to strengthen anti-corruption awareness and develop university students’ integrity, discipline and moral courage.

Since the programme began in 2023, a total of 138 UniSZA cadets have completed the training.
