MADANI Rakyat Programme 2026 to Kick Off in Perak

IPOH, March 25, 2026 — The MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) will return this year with enhanced features, building on the strong public response recorded across eight states in 2025.

Organisers announced that the 2026 edition will begin in Perak, marking the first stop of the nationwide initiative aimed at strengthening engagement between the government and the people.

The three-day programme is scheduled to take place from April 3 to 5 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Persiaran Meru. The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) will lead the Perak edition, with the Perak state government serving as host.

Coordinated by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), the flagship initiative brings together various ministries, agencies, and state governments. This year’s theme, “Sustainable Cities, Quality Housing, Harmonious Communities,” reflects a focus on balancing urban development with community well-being.

According to the secretariat, the programme is designed to integrate physical development with social progress by promoting sustainable urban planning, improving access to quality housing, and fostering cohesive communities.

These goals are aligned with the Perak Sejahtera 2030 Plan, which also prioritises people’s welfare and inclusive development.

Visitors can expect a wide range of activities and services throughout the event, including access to government services, healthcare programmes, and cost-of-living initiatives such as Jualan Rahmah MADANI and Jualan Agro MADANI. Employment opportunities, food festivals, and sales by local entrepreneurs will also be featured.

Additional community-focused activities include a helmet exchange programme, free motorcycle engine oil changes, complimentary haircuts, and the distribution of seeds and plant saplings. Exhibitions by defence and security agencies, as well as family-friendly events, are also planned.

This year’s programme will place greater emphasis on the participation of government-linked companies (GLCs) and local communities to broaden its impact and outreach.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is expected to officiate the event on April 4, underscoring the government’s commitment to engaging directly with citizens and providing opportunities for face-to-face interaction with national leaders.

The event will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
