KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 – Malaysia continues to maintain some of the lowest petrol and diesel prices in the region despite ongoing global supply pressures, reflecting the MADANI Government’s commitment to keeping fuel affordable for the public.
According to information released by the government, subsidised fuel prices in Malaysia remain significantly lower than in many neighbouring countries. Under the BUDI assistance programme, RON95 petrol is priced at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel is sold at RM2.10 per litre for eligible recipients.
The latest comparison shows Malaysia’s pump prices at RM3.62 per litre for petrol and RM4.42 per litre for diesel, remaining below prices in countries such as Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia.
The government said the pricing policy demonstrates its continued efforts to cushion Malaysians from rising living costs and the impact of global fuel price volatility caused by international supply disruptions.
It added that maintaining affordable fuel prices remains part of the MADANI Government’s broader commitment to protecting household spending power while supporting economic stability and sustainable growth.
