KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 2026, An Orang Asli man was killed while a woman believed to be his girlfriend was injured after their motorcycle skidded into a ditch outside a café in Kampung Chui Chak, Langkap, late last night.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the department received an emergency call at 11.36pm and dispatched a team from the Teluk Intan Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.
Firefighters found the 31-year-old man lying face down in the ditch, while the 25-year-old woman was discovered on the embankment with fractures to both wrists.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by a Ministry of Health medical officer. Rescue personnel later retrieved his body from the ditch using a stretcher before handing it over to the police for further investigation.
The injured woman received initial treatment at the scene and was taken to hospital by ambulance for further medical care.
The operation, involving seven firefighters, concluded at 1.06am today.
