KUALA LUMPUR: The MADANI government has fulfilled its pledge to strengthen Parliament’s independence through the Parliamentary Services Act 2025, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said.
Anwar described the legislation as a significant milestone in the government’s institutional reform agenda, aimed at limiting executive powers and strengthening Parliament’s autonomy.
Speaking at the Malaysian Parliament’s Administrative Transition and Institutional Reform Ceremony, he said the Act was among the key measures introduced to deliver on the government’s reform commitments to the people.
He added that the legislation marked an important step towards reducing powers traditionally held by the executive.
