PKR Warns of Legal Action Over Unfounded Allegations, Says Fuziah Salleh

PETALING JAYA –The Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has warned it will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals spreading baseless accusations against its leadership, according to its secretary-general Fuziah Salleh.

Fuziah said the party views seriously recent viral allegations attempting to link its leaders to claims of receiving money to resolve matters involving certain interests, including accusations tied to a so-called “corporate mafia”.

She stressed that such claims, especially when made without solid evidence, should not be accepted as facts and may be driven by parties seeking to deflect attention from their own wrongdoing.

“PKR remains committed to defending the integrity of its leadership while ensuring that any complaints are handled through proper channels and based on verified facts rather than perception or agenda,” she said in a statement issued Wednesday (March 25).

Fuziah also urged the public to act responsibly when sharing information, warning that the spread of unverified allegations could cause confusion and negatively affect political stability.

The statement follows claims by businessman Victor Chin, who released a 40-page document alleging that a lawmaker from the ruling coalition Pakatan Harapan requested RM10 million to resolve a matter. Chin claimed he initially paid RM9.5 million but withheld the remaining RM500,000 after the promised resolution did not materialise.

The allegations also include claims of a “corporate mafia” involving senior officers from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), who were accused of orchestrating intimidation campaigns targeting executives and shareholders of public-listed companies.

The MACC has denied the accusations, describing them as attempts to undermine the credibility of its enforcement efforts and ongoing investigations.
