PUTRAJAYA, July 30 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today congratulated Malaysian Muay Thai athlete Aliff Rakib on his historic achievement of becoming the first Malaysian to win the Interim ONE Championship Muay Thai Strawweight World Title.
In a statement following a meeting with Aliff Rakib at his office, Anwar praised the fighter for bringing pride to the nation through his remarkable success on the international stage.
The Prime Minister described the victory as more than just a sporting accomplishment, saying it reflects the determination, discipline, and fighting spirit of Malaysia’s younger generation to compete among the world’s best.
Anwar said Aliff’s achievement has elevated Malaysia’s name globally while demonstrating the immense potential of local athletes to excel at the highest level of competition.

Aliff Rakib recently made history by capturing the Interim ONE Championship Muay Thai Strawweight World Title, becoming the first Malaysian ever to claim a Muay Thai world championship under the prestigious ONE Championship banner.
