KOTA KINABALU: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to make a one-day visit to Sabah today to attend several programmes, including opening ceremonies and community programmes.
The Prime Minister began the visit by attending the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Sabah Southern MADANI Link at the Lundayeh Hall, Sipitang at 11 am.
The project involves a 275 kilovolt (kV) electricity transmission line spanning 330 kilometres (km) from Sipitang to Tawau, which plays an important role in strengthening the electricity supply grid in the state by balancing energy distribution on the West and East Coasts of Sabah.
After completing the program in Sipitang, he is scheduled to return to the state capital to attend the Sabah State Level Melangkah Bersama MADANI: Wanita Beriman, Wanita Bertahan which will be held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here at 2.30 pm.
Anwar is next scheduled to officiate the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 National Unity Week Celebration at 4 pm.
The opening ceremony for the national-level celebration will be held at the Likas Sports Complex grounds here, before he concludes his visit.
The 2026 National Unity Week celebration will last for four days, ending tomorrow.
