JOHOR BAHRU, July 11 – Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called on Johoreans to throw their support behind Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidates, stressing that the state’s future depends on the choices made by its voters yesterday.
Speaking while campaigning with Pakatan Harapan’s Perling state assembly candidate, Alan Tee Boon Tsong, at Perling Mall on Friday, Anwar said the strong public turnout reflected the spirit of unity that has long been Malaysia’s greatest strength.
He described the presence of Malaysians from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds at the campaign event as a true representation of the country’s multicultural identity, saying it demonstrated the importance of preserving unity for the benefit of both Johor and the nation.
“Thank God, the crowd that turned up reflected Malaysia’s rich diversity of cultures and communities. This is the spirit we want to continue nurturing for the well-being of our beloved state and country,” he said in a social media post.
Anwar also urged voters to give Pakatan Harapan a strong mandate in the Johor state election, reiterating the coalition’s campaign slogan, “Johor Forward. Vote HARAPAN.”
He said a victory for Pakatan Harapan in Johor would help ensure the continuation of development initiatives, economic growth, and people’s welfare programmes in line with the MADANI Government’s agenda.
The Perling campaign stop was part of Anwar’s statewide tour to support Pakatan Harapan candidates ahead of polling day, as the coalition intensifies its efforts to engage voters and strengthen support across Johor.
Pakatan Harapan has been ramping up its campaign throughout the state, focusing on messages of unity, political stability, and sustainable development as key pillars of its appeal to Johor voters.
