According to the Finance Ministry, 10 key priorities include addressing the cost of living through targeted assistance such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and BUDI MADANI, reducing regional disparities and strengthening social protection for gig workers.
Other priorities include education, healthcare, public sector digital transformation, workers’ welfare, local entrepreneurship and high-value investments in semiconductors and artificial intelligence.
Budget 2027 is the second budget under the 13th Malaysia Plan. The tabling will be broadcast live on local television stations and social media platforms.
The budget debate is scheduled to begin next week, with the relevant ministries set to wind up their debates from October 26 to 29.
