Ramanan Hails Malaysian Students’ Double Gold Win at Bangkok Innovation Awards

KUALA LUMPUR — Human Resources Minister Ramanan Ramakrishnan has commended four Malaysian students for their outstanding achievement at the Bangkok Innovation Awards, where they secured two gold medals and second place in the Primary School Engineering category.

In a statement, Ramanan said the success reflects the creativity and high-impact thinking of Malaysia’s younger generation on the global stage.

“This achievement is not only a source of national pride but also clear proof that our youth possess innovative ideas capable of gaining international recognition,” he said.

The students — Ilaneyan Yuvarajan and Theerchanna Muniandy from SJKT KO Sarangapany, along with Ilanarun Yuvarajan and Elamaaran Muniandy from SMK Sultan Badlishah — were praised for demonstrating excellence in both innovation and academics.

Ramanan, who is also the Member of Parliament for Sungai Buloh, described their accomplishment as a symbol of the country’s future potential, driven by talent and dedication.

He also acknowledged the vital role played by parents, who travelled to Bangkok to support their children.

“The sacrifices and encouragement from families are the backbone of these achievements. Success is never individual—it is built on strong collective support,” he added.

The minister further expressed appreciation to the teachers who guided the students throughout their journey to the international stage.

Ramanan also shared a personal moment from the meeting, recalling how the students requested his autograph as a keepsake.

“Although unexpected, I accepted it as a great honour and took the opportunity to encourage them to continue striving for excellence,” he said.

He expressed hope that the students’ success would inspire more Malaysian youths to innovate and compete globally, strengthening the nation’s standing in education and innovation.
