RON97, Unsubsidised RON95 Fall 5 Sen, Diesel Down 10 Sen

KUALA LUMPUR 14 October 2026, Motorists will pay less for RON97 and unsubsidised RON95 petrol from Oct 15 to 21, with both prices reduced by five sen per litre. Unsubsidised diesel will see a larger decrease of 10 sen per litre.

The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that RON97 will retail at RM5.10 per litre, while unsubsidised RON95 will cost RM4.62. Unsubsidised diesel will be priced at RM5.17 per litre.

The price adjustments come as regional supplies of refined petroleum products show signs of improvement, supported by China’s renewed fuel exports for October and continued supplies from South Korea.

However, MOF cautioned that ongoing tensions in West Asia, including recent attacks in Saudi Arabia, could disrupt supplies and trigger further price fluctuations.

Eligible recipients under the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme will continue paying RM1.99 per litre, while eligible diesel recipients will retain the subsidised rate of RM2.10 per litre.

The government has allocated an estimated RM40 billion for fuel subsidies next year under Budget 2027 to help ease the cost of living and support economic activity.

MOF said national fuel supplies remain sufficient and urged the public to conserve fuel by planning journeys carefully and avoiding unnecessary travel.

The government will continue monitoring global oil market developments while maintaining a stable fuel supply and cushioning consumers from international price volatility.
