KUALA LUMPUR 12 August 2026 — Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has been granted a conditional stay of execution on a RM67.46 million judgment owed to Lebanese jewellery company Global Royalty Trading SAL, pending her appeal at the Court of Appeal.
Judicial Commissioner Marianne Antoinette Ghani ordered Rosmah to deposit the full judgment sum of RM67,461,027.37 into a joint account held by lawyers for both parties within one month.
The order means Rosmah, 75, will not have to pay the amount directly to Global Royalty while her appeal is pending, provided she complies with the court’s conditions.
Marianne said the arrangement would safeguard Global Royalty’s right to the funds should Rosmah’s appeal fail, while ensuring the money remains in Malaysia and can be returned to Rosmah if her appeal succeeds.
On June 10, High Court judge Datuk Quay Chew Soon ordered Rosmah to pay approximately RM67.5 million to Global Royalty over 43 pieces of jewellery allegedly loaned to her.
The civil suit involved 44 pieces of luxury jewellery worth US$14.57 million (about RM68.3 million), which Global Royalty claimed were supplied to Rosmah in 2018 on a consignment basis for viewing.
The company maintained that the jewellery remained its property and was never returned, leading it to seek compensation from Rosmah.
